ARMY PUBLIC School, Del- hi Cantt celebrated its Annu- al Day where the Chief Guest, Maj GenK.J.S Oberoi, SM, GOC Delhi Area, School Patron inaugurated the mul- tipurpose hall and released the school magazine, Hori- zon. Guest of Honour, Van- dana Oberoi, President AWWA -Delhi felicitated the academic and sports achiev- ers. Officiating Principal, Usha Saini presented the an- nual report. Guests were welcomed by Col. S.Garg, Di- rector APS Delhi Cantt. The cultural fiesta 'Darpan' mir- rored modern society reflect- ing the vignettes of human civilization in the modern era. The highlights of the programme were an English musical play 'Us and Them' and a fusion dance portrayed the theme 'East meets West'. Vidya Bal Bhawan Sr. Sec. School, Mayur Vihar Phase - III celebrated its annual function which commenced with lamp lighting by Member of Par- liament, Sandeep Dikshit. Finance and Power Minis- ter of Delhi Government, Dr. A.K. Walia presided over the function. R.N. Sharma, Dy. Director of Ed- ucation East was the Chief Guest. Chairperson Re- sham Devi welcomed guests. The function includ- ed cultural programmes such as animal dance Garhwali dance, and the play 'Peace must Prevail'. Principal, Dr S. V Sharma presented the annual re- port. The Air Force School, Subroto Park celebrated its 53rd Founder's Day with Chief Guest, Air Marshal PK Borbora, AOC in C Western Air Command, IAE Principal Deepika Tha- par Singh welcomed the gathering. The school an- nual report was presented by junior and senior wing head boy and head girl re- spectively highlighting the achievements and success of the school. This was fol- lowed by the Prize distribu- tion. The highlight of the evening was a musical play, 'Buddha - the quest for peace' depicting the ageless story of Prince Siddartha. G.D. Goenka World School, Sohna Road, Gur- gaon organised a cross country run, 'Goenkan En- dura 2008' aimed at promot- ing fitness awareness amongst students. The Guest of Honour was Suni- ta Godara, internationally accalimed marathon run- ner and champion of wom- ens' and children' rights. Principal Neeta Bali wel- comed guests. AhIcon International School, Mayur Vihar held an exhibition on the theme of 'May God Rehabilitate Mankind', declared open by Lyubomira Georgieva, At- tache, Culture Embassy of Bulgariya, New Delhi. Dr Ro- hini Ahluwalia, Chairper- son, Ahicon International School and other eminent personalities graced the oc- casion. The exhibition dis- played revolutions and tur- bulences affecting mankind since times immemorial.
