Sehwag gets his way, to stay with delhi team

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend
Virender Sehwag had already done what no Indian cricketer had before when he scored over 300 runs in Tests, twice. Outspoken and fearless, his taking on the might of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) should have come as no surprise. What was surprising was that he got the better of them.

He did it very skilfully. The Delhi skipper, whose anti-DDCA outburst created a storm, first called up former India captain Tiger Pataudi on Monday. He asked Pataudi to accompany him to DDCA president Arun Jaitley's house that night, saying he needed the presence of Delhi's seniormost cricketer.

What Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir who also joined him for the meeting with Jaitley and DDCA general secretary Sneh Bansal basically wanted was that Delhi selections be fair.

Axed by Bhartiya Janata Party, Jaswant runs to old friend Atal

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend
The BJP, under unree from several quarters ever since it expelled its top former leader Jaswant Singh (71) from the party last Wednesday, was further embarrassed when former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee met him on Sunday morning.

A former key backroom boy for both Vajpayee and BJP parliamentary party leader L.K.
Advani, Sudheendra Kulkarni (52), also quit the party on Saturday, saying he felt he could no longer make any "meaningful contribution" to it.

Critics of the BJP's decision to sack Singh termed Vajpayee's willingness to meet him -- he is the first top BJP leader to do so publicly, since Singh was thrown out for praising Pakistan founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah in his book -- as a signal that he disapproved of the harsh step.

The Sangh told them to put their heads together, find out what went wrong and come out with a revival package with specific emphasis on younger leaders, the next generation.
